Missed the 5.30 Sunrise session but was pretty proud we made it to Time Square yoag at 7.30AM - an amazing experience..

Lots of beautiful butts in the air - the dogs on Time Square
Shavasana - so peaceful and this is the least peaceful place in the world....
Of course lots of commercial exploitation - meant freebies for partcipants such as a free yoga mat, nailpolish, deodorant - everything that the NY yogi needs to look great for class ;-)
We were even on Good Morning America that time around... Shalabasana on Time Square makes for a good visual...
Yoga the whole day - there's no better advertising than this - two really smart entrepreneurs thought of this a few years ago and they have grown to about 8,000 people in one day by now. They could have more participants but need to limit entry due to space constraints... Wonder if this would fly on Marienplatz in Munich...
Got her free yoga mat and the goodie bag - that's how you get signed in

The first gong meditation ever in Roosevelt Island - was blissful! The gong is magical and you feel like you are floating when meditating on it. My experience was: probably the first 45 minutes were amazing, no discomfort, just an amazingly long and powerful shavasana - then it felt like I was waking up and I had to force myself to keep my eyes closed and try to continue the meditation, thoughts kept rushing through and I felt discomfort in all kinds of places, had to move around a little, felt hungry and really worked hard not to open my eyes. Tried to focus on the sound and breath and take it all in but couldn't help but thinking that meditation, especially such a long one, is really hard work and probably harder than the yoga class I took this morning... Yet, the effects are amazing - have been feeling light and in my zone so much, must be radiating it outwards too - people in the elevator have been particularly friendly today...
