Actually I wish I could say we're getting ready for our big trip but unfortunately things are a bit insecure right now. I managed to twist my ankle badly when bouldering last week and it's turning a different shade of blue every day right now. The doctors (and I've seen quite a few by now- one more useless than the next btw) just said there are some small hairline fractures and one ligament is torn while all the others are just stretched-  oh, well it's your decision whether you want to go. You would be on the safe side if you cancelled the trip. But if I were you I' probably still go too. Great, very precise instructions there.

The "egg" on Friday last week (right after it happened):

So in the meantime I just wait- for the foot to get better and try to use positive priming to convince myself that it'll be just fine... Work, Russian and of course facebook and google plus as well as pointless shows on TV make for great distractions - but are not really helping...

In order to make the positive priming work, I was watching the llama movie a friend gave me last night. Funny, but somehow not really that funny for me. After that I picked up my book "Turn right at Macchu Picchu" again but I also couldn't really focus on that since I had to keep thinking about the way I wouldn't be able to get up there with my foot hurting like hell...

But, a friend told me that Macchu Picchu seemed a bit like Disney Land after having travelled through other (more real) parts of Peru and Bolivia- so who knows maybe it's overrated and we'll see a lot more of the really country when trying to get round with a strained ankle... She was really excited about those overland busses so we have slightly changed plans and might not fly straight to Cusco from Lima but rather take a trip down the Peruvian coast, maybe do try to see the Nasca Lines after all and definetely stop in Paracas to see the penguins...

So who knows maybe it's fate things like that happen. Got to go give myself an anti-thrombosis injection now :-( But will be important to be prepared for the long flights. Keep your fingers crossed- and more to come - hopefully from South America soon...
