Kickboxing with a view... 10:21 PM by Anushka's travels No Comment In Another one of my classivity adventures brought me to Central Park on Labor Day evening to try kickboxing after the longest time again. It was the muggiest of days so after only a few punches, I was dripping. Which was all the more frustrating because I had one of the teachers all to myself and she was showing me the right moves but she didn't show a single drop of sweat. She probably practices 10 hours a day, judging by her powerful abs that should be about right... Anyway, it is a great workout and especially useful after a stressful day at work I think - I might actually consider getting a monthly package with them but then again - so many other things to try... In terms of scenery, it probably doesn't get much better than this location though. There were quite a few people taking pictures and asking what we were doing in the middle of the park- pretty good advertising strategy as well, I guess. The interesting I learned in the class is that holding the pads for someone kicking or boxing is just as exhausting, if not more so than actually doing it. And you should never hold your breath - especially not if you are doing cardio intervals... Share: Facebook Twitter Google+ StumbleUpon Digg Delicious LinkedIn Reddit Technorati
