So today's class was called 'slip & slide' and I really had no idea what I got myself into. The gym is called Revolution in Motion so I figured I'd have to try this as part of my classivity package. A friend had told me that the class she took at this gym was not really that exhausting so I was not too concerned going into it. But turns out, I was wrong. Apparently, I have not abs whatsoever - while I was still doing well on the legs bit where you just slide from one end of the surface to the other in some sort of a squat position, sometimes while throwing balls around (there were only three poeple in this class which was kind of nice). A chiropractic developed this kind of a work out and I think it really targets some deeper muscle areas and you feel like you are getting a good workout without overdoing it or stressing one part of the body too much (except maybe my non-existent abs)...
The slips that we put over our shoes made sure that we could slide on this plastic like surface that the coach put out. The exercises she was doing in this picture were really tough and I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow. The classes are not cheap but I think this could be an excellent complementary training when you are running a marathon or doing some other very strenuous activity. The coach mentioned that he gained a lot of strength for his martial arts... And I just found another class that focuses on awakening women's sex drive. This city will certainly offer something for everyone and anyone...
