Not only an impressive pyramid but also very well preserved platforms for the human sacrifices (and animals as well I guess), nun's monastery, ball game court etc etc - chichen itza was the capital of the Mayan world at a point. Every building was framed by snake heads and there were skulls symbolizing the death of the sacrificed people - was definitely no fun to live around that time...
