Walking over the bridge is always a little scenic, even if it's just a small bridge but in this gorgeous fall weather, it was just great.
The city offers quite a few free yoga classes and one that I had never managed to go to, takes place on Saturdays and Sundays over the summer in Socrates Sculpture park, in Queens, walking distance from the island. But since the class starts at 9.30 AM, it was always a little tricky for me to get there.
Turns out that there are actually a few interesting pieces of art in this park and it's well worth a visit even without the yoga class. Might go there for a jog some time... It's just that the queens side is not really as safe as the Manhattan side or at least so I hear...
I'd say that they created it as a community art project - a very nice spot for a yoga class though.
Not sure what this piece was called but I liked it for some reason. The Truck below was also interesting...
I have to say, the teacher was pretty good too. I would not have expected her to be that thorough, given that there were so many different people and levels. She actually corrected people and showed a lot of attention to everyone.
I liked the community feel that the class had to it.
Would definitely come back, if it wasn't for the winter kicking in now... shame actually...
