Interesting shoes - feels a little like a kangaroo.
So this guy Mario Godiva apparently they also call him kangoo guru- I had seen those shoes before and was always really intrigued what it would feel like to walk in them or rather jump in them. Trying them on was a bit like putting on roller blades and I had some trouble standing and keeping my balance in them at first.
But when we started the class, you soon start getting more comfortable and start feeling like it actually adds something - it's definitely a fun work out even if a little too aerobics like for me...

You need to be able to feel the beat and the rythm which isn't exactly my biggest strength but it worked out somehow. It's definitely really exhausting too- you do squats and all kinds of jumping variations. I took a video but unfortunately it's too large to post it here. It's interesting because this is a very loud jumping sound - didn't sound like kangaroos but more like elephants. Maybe that's because there were quite a few beginners in the class... The instructor was very impressive and most certainly enjoyed was she was doing - giving everyone a feel-good atmosphere. While I was a little skepetic and not sure about this whole thing, especially how good it is for your knees, at the beginning - I was certainly convinced and very much enjoyed the, admittedly very sweaty session. It's exhausting, you get your sweat going, it's cardio but also some stretching and when you run, apparently it's very good for your abs. So I'll try to see if I can join one of the runs they are organizing around the city some time...

The girls (again only girls - seems like only girls want to get fit in this city or maybe it's exemplifying the fact that there are more girls than guys in NY)...

Just saw on their website that they are selling those shoes here as well - reminded me though that I brought those thick roller blades over here and haven't used them once this year - well, too many things to explore I guess...
